This error occurs when UPS cannot validate the ship-from or return address. The issue may be with the customer's address in the RMA, or with the merchant's return address in company settings.
Error message
"Address Validation Error on ShipFrom address"
What this means
UPS could not validate the ship-from address. This usually happens when:
- the postcode is invalid
- the city and postcode do not match
- required state or province information is missing
- the address is incomplete
How to fix it
If the issue is with the merchant return address
- Go to Settings → Company Details in the Swap portal.
- Review the return address and check that the street, city, postcode, state or province (if required), and country are all correct.
- Verify the city and postcode match using a postcode lookup tool.
- Save the changes.
- Regenerate the label.
Note: this fixes a validation error on a specific label. If a change to the return address for all labels is needed going forward for all future returns (not fix one failed label), see Adding Multiple Return Shipping Destinations — Changing Your Current Return Address.
If the issue is with the customer's address
- Open the RMA.
- Review the customer's shipping address.
- Verify the city and postcode match using a postcode lookup tool.
- Correct the invalid address information.
- Regenerate the label.
If the issue continues
