What has changed with US de minimis rules?

As of August 2025, the US ended duty-free treatment on imports under $800 that aren't sent through the postal system. Low-value imports from any country are now subject to duties. For postal shipments, duties are assessed as either ad valorem (based on the IEEPA tariff rate for the origin country) or as a specific duty ranging from $80 to $200 per item.
